14 degrees and snow in ATL

Rare, fascinating, sparkling with beauty and over before you know it. Joshilyn Jackson is a local Georgia writer who is swiftly earning a place in my heart of beloved novelists. Having been down with the flu since last Friday the 12th and unable to read, my brain and soul demanded the reprieve of a good tale to crawl into yesterday.

Picked up someone else's love story that I had been saving for just such an emergency. Immediately fell in love with all of the main characters, and Jackson's ability to spin a yarn - somehow revealing more as she shows you yet another layer. With frequent refills of soup and liquids, read this gem in one sitting and felt restored. It is set in the heart of Atlanta with most of the story playing out in the Morningside area. It addresses various crimes of the heart (and actual shootings) with both surgical precision and the fairy dust of an artist. Having one of my favorite Emily Dickinson poems woven throughout would have had me swooning if I wasn't already entranced.

Read hardcover.

Yes, at 9am today on Jan 17th it was 14 degree and we had snow!
