Hefty dose of humor with a dash of grit

From the first page, Litt had me laughing out loud. The humor, while robust, is not the most memorable aspect of this speechwriter's memoir. What hits the hardest is the grit - his, the speech writing teams', the "RPs" (real people) and the president's.

Read it for the stories, and you'll remember it for the pathos and hope to be found in sheer determination.
"We are not perfect, but we have the capacity to be more perfect. Mile after mile; step after step. And they pile up, one after the other, and pretty soon that finish line starts getting into sight and we are not where we were. We're in a better place."
Read hardcover.
